Understanding Democratic Renewal
Turning Democratic Experience into Transferable Knowledge.
For more than a decade, Hungary was widely studied as a case of democratic backsliding. Today, it offers another important lesson: how democratic societies can regenerate participation, rebuild trust, and create new forms of collective agency.
Hungary has become one of Europe's most significant laboratories of democratic change. The Hungarian Blueprint Institute was established to understand, develop and share the lessons emerging from this experience.
Our work focuses on the conditions that enable democratic renewal: citizen participation, movement strategy, governance innovation, civic engagement, democratic leadership and societal resilience.
Through dialogue, presentations, workshops, research and strategic advisory work, we support practitioners, policymakers and institutions committed to strengthening democracy in the 21st century.
